We are fathers who want to lead our sons to mature manhood by growing in the virtues. We need to live these virtues ourselves and encourage our sons to live them.
Many of us also have boys who have attended Leadership Camp Texas (aka LCT). See leadershipcamptexas.net. We loved the fun and formation of the camp. We want a more regular gathering where our sons could experience this year round.
The counselors consist of boys who have attended LCT and have been counselors there. They are successful virtuous young men committed to forming the boys who attend LC Dallas. Currently, 2 are University of Dallas freshmen and one is a Cistercian High School junior.
The faculty of LC Dallas (those who will teach the longer classes on virtues to the fathers) are accomplished professors and educators in the community.
Many of us involved with LC Dallas are inspired by the teachings of St. Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei. He encouraged us in our ordinary lives and work to be very close to God and spread the gospel. As he said in The Way, “These world crises are crises of saints. God wants a handful of men of his own in every human activity. And then... pax Christi in regno Christi — the peace of Christ in the kingdom of Christ.” For more information about St. Josemaría and Opus Dei, see opusdei.org.
